It is always interesting to observe the reactions of folks who see the Big One® and V2® unicycles for the first time when visiting our Chattanooga headquarters. Most of these vintage car and hot rod enthusiasts (and they’re great folks by the way) don’t have a clue about the Cokering phenomenon or that there is even such a thing as distance unicycling. To a person, they almost always ask, “Why in the world would you need a brake on a unicycle?” A lot of these people think riding a unicycle as large as the Coker on the road is just plain crazy. You should see the looks we get when we talk about you guys and gals who ride off-road.
When we first heard about the Ride the Lobster event, we knew we had to be involved in some way. We received an overwhelming amount of inquiries from both individual riders and teams. It was clear early on that the new lighweight aluminum Coker Big One® was going to be a popular mount for this first-ever distance event.
